Safeguarding

St Pius X RC Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The Headteacher, Mr Gair, is the designated safeguarding lead in school. Mr Bennett is the nominated deputy for safeguarding in school. Mrs Porter is the nominated governor for safeguarding. Mrs Flynn is the Chair of Governors.

Parents should be aware the school would take any reasonable action to ensure the safety of its pupils/students.

In cases where the school has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to significant harm, ill-treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff have no alternative but to follow MSCB (Middlesbrough Safeguarding Board Procedures) and inform Children Services Social Care of their concern.
